Founded in 1901, ECA was established to\u00a0represent\u00a0the interests of\u00a0contractors who designed, installed, inspected, tested\u00a0and maintained electrical and electronic equipment and services.<\/p>\n

ECA\u00a0was officially\u00a0incorporated on the\u00a019th April 1916.<\/p>\n

ECA played a particularly important part in the 1920s and 1930s when electric power was introduced to most houses. Before this time, and the formation of the National Grid, electricity was supplied at different voltages and frequencies.<\/p>\n
